From 27 October 2025, Lufthansa will reintroduce nonstop flights from Munich to Riyadh, offering high-end travellers a direct, refined, and reliable way to access the Saudi capital. The new year-round route will operate three times a week on the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900, strengthening connections between Europe’s luxury hub in Bavaria and the Kingdom’s fast-growing centre of business and culture.
For travel advisors, the service offers an enhanced option for clients heading to Riyadh – whether they are senior executives, investors, or cultural travellers drawn by the city’s dynamic growth and its role at the heart of Vision 2030. Munich Airport, consistently rated among the world’s best, ensures a premium ground experience from start to finish, with elegant lounges, fine dining, and efficient connections.
Flight LH640 will depart Munich every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday evening at 21:45, arriving in Riyadh the following morning at 04:50 – ideal timing for business leaders and luxury travellers alike to start their day in the Saudi capital. The return service leaves Riyadh early in the morning, connecting seamlessly back into Lufthansa’s extensive European and intercontinental network.
The aircraft itself, the Airbus A350-900, is one of Lufthansa’s most advanced and sustainable wide-bodies. Onboard, travellers have a choice of Business Class with fully flat beds, Premium Economy offering extra space and refined amenities, and Economy Class with modern comfort standards. For advisors serving high-net-worth clients, Lufthansa’s Business Class remains a compelling choice, combining German precision with understated luxury.
Sadiq Mohamed, General Manager Sales Saudi Arabia at Lufthansa Group Airlines, noted: “Munich is one of the most popular destinations in Western Europe for many of our customers. The airport itself is a relaxing, convenient and beautiful gateway, whether travellers are connecting onward or visiting the city and its stunning surrounding region, known for its castles and picturesque lakes near the Alps.”
The launch also reflects Lufthansa’s long-standing commitment to the Saudi market, which it has served for 65 years. With Riyadh preparing to host global events such as the World Expo 2030 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034, premium access routes like Munich are set to play a vital role in accommodating international demand.
For travel advisors, this new nonstop option makes it easier than ever to propose Riyadh as part of an elite European–Middle Eastern itinerary, offering clients both efficiency and sophistication in one journey.
