Arabian hospitality beyond borders

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a land steeped in rich cultural heritage and tradition, is now making its mark globally in the hospitality sector.

As part of its Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia is not only enhancing its domestic tourism and hospitality industries but is also extending its reach beyond its borders, showcasing Arabian hospitality on a global scale.

KSA reaches out to the world

Leading the charge are major Saudi hotel operators and entities like the Public Investment Fund (PIF), which are investing in and developing luxury properties worldwide. These ventures reflect the Kingdom’s ambitious economic diversification efforts, which aim to reduce dependence on oil by leveraging other sectors where Saudi Arabia can assert global leadership.

Saudi hotel brands, recognised for their generous hospitality, are bringing their unique blend of service, luxury, and traditional Saudi culture to various international markets. The expansion includes high-profile investments in European capitals and major cities across Asia and North America. These properties are not merely investments but are ambassadors of Saudi culture, designed to introduce the world to the genuine warmth and hospitality for which Arabia is known.

Additionally, the PIF, Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund, plays a pivotal role in this global outreach. It has been instrumental in forging partnerships with international hotel chains and real estate companies to develop properties that not only promise financial returns but also act as cultural conduits. These projects often incorporate architectural elements and service philosophies that are deeply rooted in Saudi traditions, offering guests from around the world a taste of Arabian hospitality.

The strategy extends beyond mere economic expansion; it is a soft power push, enhancing Saudi Arabia’s influence in global cultural and tourism landscapes. Through these international ventures, Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a global leader in hospitality, exporting its unique brand of hospitality and enhancing cultural exchanges that enrich both guests and hosts.

This global expansion of Saudi Arabian hospitality not only helps to improve the Kingdom’s image on the world stage but also invites international tourists and business travellers to experience the renowned Saudi hospitality domestically, further boosting the sector’s growth within the Kingdom.

We expect to see, in the coming years, some major “Saudi branded” sorties (PIF remains very much “underground”). SAFE will keep you posted – watch this space.
