Marriott arrives in Sindalah

In a landmark deal, Marriott International is to open three luxury hotels on NEOM’s Sindalah Island in the Red Sea

The deal marks the first signed property under Autograph Collection Hotels, Marriott’s distinctive brand of independent hotels, in Saudi Arabia. It also includes two properties under The Luxury Collection, Marriott’s premium brand of hotels and resorts that offer unique and authentic experiences.

The three hotels are expected to open in 2024 and will cater to “discerning travellers who seek exceptional service, design and amenities” in a breathtaking setting.

Sindalah is the first of a group of islands that will be developed in NEOM and is set to be among the most alluring destinations in the Red Sea. The island will feature exquisite facilities and exclusive offerings surrounded by a stunning and diverse ocean environment home to over 2,000 marine species, 600 of which are endemic to the Red Sea.

“Sindalah is a destination that will inspire awe and wonder for global travellers who crave transformative experiences and destination-rooted authenticity. We are delighted to partner with NEOM to bring our Luxury Collection and Autograph Collection Hotels brands to this incredible island and showcase the rich culture and natural beauty of Saudi Arabia,” said Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Marriott International.

The Luxury Collection hotels in Sindalah will offer a mix of 70 luxury rooms and suites, including one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom villas all featuring private pools, and 115 one-, two- and three-bedroom luxury suites, respectively. Both properties will showcase multiple culinary experiences and leisure facilities.

The Autograph Collection hotel in Sindalah will offer 66 rooms and suites, including one- and two-bedroom villas, multiple dining options, a kids club, and a spa. The hotel will reflect the unique personality and story of Sindalah, creating rich immersive moments that will leave a lasting imprint for guests.

Sindalah will also be a new destination for one-of-a-kind nautical and yachting experiences, located just 17 hours sail from the Mediterranean and featuring a prestigious 86-berth marina for yachts up to 75 meters and serviced offshore buoys for superyachts up to 180m. Additionally, the island will include over 400 ultra-premium hotel rooms and 300 top-end suites, a beach club, a glamorous yacht club, and 38 unique culinary offerings.

“NEOM is one of the most highly-anticipated developments in the world and we are excited to work with Marriott International to develop these three luxury hotels that will set new standards of excellence in hospitality. Sindalah will be a destination that offers unparalleled experiences for our guests and we look forward to welcoming them from early 2024,” said Chris Newman, Executive Director, Hotel Development at NEOM.

The three projects are expected to be the first hotels to open on Sindalah Island, which is part of NEOM’s vision to create a future-centric hospitality ecosystem in the region. NEOM is a planned cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of north-western Saudi Arabia that aims to be a global hub for innovation, technology and sustainability.
