Imagine stepping into a realm where the clouds are within reach, where every experience is infused with authentic hospitality and cultural richness. This is the promise of Soudah Peaks – an experience offering a close-up look at Saudi Arabia’s natural beauty and cultural essence, set amidst vibrant green mountains.
Perched at over 3000 metres altitude amidst the majestic peaks of Saudi Arabia’s highest mountains, a new vision of luxury is taking shape. HRH the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in his dual role as Prime Minister and Chairman of Soudah Development, has unveiled an ambitious masterplan to transform Soudah and parts of Rijal Almaa into “Soudah Peaks”—a destination poised to redefine mountain tourism with a touch of luxury.
Revealed officially to the trade for first time at the World Travel Market in London this week, Soudah Peaks, nestled in the heart of the Aseer region, is a bold leap into the future of tourism, aligning seamlessly with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. Phase one will see the building of nine low-rise boutique and five-star hotels and the resort will also offer adventure experiences and wellness retreats, all in an immersive cultural environment.
With the Public Investment Fund (PIF) at the helm, the project marks a strategic pivot towards diversifying the nation’s economy, fuelling growth in tourism, hospitality, and entertainment sectors, while also championing the Aseer development strategy.
The project promises a luxury living experience that meticulously preserves the region’s pristine environment and its rich tapestry of cultural and heritage narratives. Soudah Peaks emerges as a testament to Saudi Arabia’s commitment to environmental stewardship and economic diversification, forecast to contribute a massive SAR 29 billion to the Kingdom’s GDP and sparking the creation of thousands of job opportunities.
“Soudah Peaks will be a crowning jewel in our tourism portfolio,” said HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “It will not only place the Kingdom on the international tourism map but also invite the world to explore and celebrate our storied culture and heritage.”
By 2033, Soudah Peaks aims to welcome over two million visitors annually, providing an array of high-end hospitality services. The masterplan, a thoughtful homage to the local architectural vernacular, will bolster cultural and landscape heritage across six distinct development zones. Each zone—from Tahlal’s tranquil beauty to Red Rock’s rugged allure—will host a suite of world-class facilities, including opulent hotels, residential chalets, and a myriad of entertainment and commercial attractions.
With 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space on the horizon, the project’s first phase is set to materialize by 2027, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for Saudi tourism.
The vast expanse of Soudah Peaks, spanning over 627 square kilometers of natural wonder, is a testament to the Kingdom’s green commitment. With less than 1% earmarked for construction, this initiative reflects an unyielding dedication to sustainability, echoing the principles of the Saudi Green Initiative.
