Saudia has entered into a strategic partnership with Tibah Airports to bolster its service offerings at Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah. This collaboration, signed by Saudia Group’s Director General, Engr. Ibrahim Al Omar, and Tibah Airports Operation Co’s Chairman, Dr. Ibrahim Alrajhi, is poised to significantly enhance operational throughput and global connectivity from Madinah, potentially doubling the influx of visitors.
This initiative is part of Saudia’s broader strategy to augment its fleet and operational reach, with numerous aircraft acquisitions on the horizon. It underscores the airline’s commitment to integrating the latest in aviation advancements to refine both in-flight and on-the-ground services, aligning with its objective of delivering top-tier travel experiences.
Engr. Ibrahim Al Omar emphasised the role of this partnership in advancing the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in increasing the annual pilgrim count to 30 million by the end of the decade. It also aligns with the Saudi Aviation Strategy’s ambition to extend air connectivity to over 250 global destinations, thereby enhancing Madinah’s connectivity and facilitating access for an international audience.
Dr. Ibrahim Alrajhi expressed enthusiasm for the enhanced operations at Madinah Airport, highlighting its importance as a primary entry point to the sacred city. He anticipates that Saudia’s increased presence will not only elevate the airport’s status but also significantly impact regional economic and tourism sectors.
This agreement marks a pivotal development in Saudi Arabia’s luxury travel and aviation sectors, promising improved access and services for international travellers and pilgrims, and contributing to the Kingdom’s growing prominence as a global travel hub.
