EDITION Hotels has debuted its latest property in Jeddah, aiming to capture the vibrant spirit and unique character of the city.
The Jeddah EDITION is situated on the Jeddah Corniche, directly on the seafront in a prime location next to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Circuit, adjacent to the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina.
This project is a collaboration between Marriott International, EDITION Hotels, and the design firm Yabu Pushelberg, under the leadership of Sela and its Managing Director, Dr. Rakan Al Harthi. This partnership merges Jeddah’s culture and traditions with the brand’s contemporary approach, resulting in a hospitality experience that integrates Eastern and Western influences.
“In this transformative time in the country’s rich history, we’re thrilled to further expand the EDITION brand in Saudi Arabia,” said Josh Fluhr, EDITION’s Senior Vice President and Global Managing Director. “Through our inspired partnership with Dr. Rakan Al Harthi and his team, we’re bringing EDITION’s unique concept to Jeddah, which is destined to evolve the luxury standard in the Kingdom.”
The property, designed by EDITION and Yabu Pushelberg, features 52 rooms and 11 suites, including two Penthouses. Amenities include a rooftop terrace with a pool, a spa, a gym, two lounges, and a signature restaurant with culinary concepts by New York chef Cédric Vongerichten.
The Lobby areas, as with all EDITION properties, serve as the hotel’s central gathering space. The open-flow lobby features a large orange acrylic sphere by artist Vincent Leroy, inspired by Jeddah’s sunrises and sunsets. The reception area includes a walnut panelled niche and a sculptural solid walnut desk, with wingback chairs and an Iranian silk Persian rug.
Adjacent to the lobby is the light-filled Lobby Lounge, seamlessly flowing into the next space. The Lobby Bar features a black-and-white photography series by artist Richard Phibbs and an original royal purple billiard table by Blatt Billiards. The bar offers handcrafted beverages, coffee by a local roaster, and a selection of teas, light bites, and pastries. The expansive alfresco terrace spans the entire building, featuring a bocce ball court and views of the Red Sea and the Floating Mosque.
Maritime, the hotel’s signature contemporary French-Asian restaurant, is concepted by chef Cédric Vongerichten. “Maritime is inspired by my love of Asian flavours, which began during my years living in Bangkok, in harmony with my passion for French cooking techniques. I’ve created a menu that reflects diverse cultures and features the aromatic spices of the region alongside the finest local ingredients,” says chef Cédric Vongerichten.
Maritime serves dishes designed to be shared, with spice playing a central role, merging Asian and Arabian sensibilities. The restaurant’s terrace, overlooking the Red Sea, is surrounded by potted plants and ancient olive trees, with pergolas providing shade for diners.
The Den, a secluded lounge for cigar aficionados, features custom tufted teal blue velvet banquettes and rich brown armchairs. The Den offers bespoke coffees, non-alcoholic beverages, and light bites from chef Cédric Vongerichten, providing a haven for cigar lovers.
The hotel’s rooms and suites offer an understated design that highlights EDITION’s signature approach. Rooms feature travertine bathrooms, white oak spaces, and terraces with views of the Red Sea or the F1 track. The Penthouse and Royal Penthouse offer expansive living spaces, private terraces, and luxurious amenities.
The Roof, a Mediterranean beach club-inspired space, features private nooks and lounges with panoramic views of the Marina, Jeddah Yacht Club, and F1 track. The fourth floor also houses a gym and The Spa, an intimate space offering treatments using Natura Bissé products from Barcelona.
The Jeddah EDITION reflects Saudi Arabia’s transformative journey, combining modern sophistication and style, and setting a new standard for hospitality in the Kingdom.
