Top luxury seaside resorts in Saudi Arabia – Part 2: Red Sea Global development

Part two of our spotlight on top luxury seaside resorts in KSA looks at the Red Sea Global (RSG) project, a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 – a transformative initiative aimed at redefining luxury tourism while championing environmental sustainability.

RSG was established to develop high-end tourism projects along the pristine Red Sea coast, transforming the region into a world-class destination for affluent travelers seeking both relaxation and eco-conscious experiences.

50 resorts are planned for the region – opening over coming years, but some have already opened their doors. Here, we are looking ONLY at resorts that have already opened or that are opening in the coming months.

The roadmap for the current Red Sea Project

The Red Sea Project is one of the most prominent ventures under RSG’s banner. Spanning more than 28,000 square kilometers of Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coastline, this vast development includes over 90 untouched islands, deserts, mountains, and volcanoes, all offering varied and unique experiences to its visitors. The goal is to attract over one million tourists annually by 2030, while adhering to strict sustainability measures that protect the region’s delicate ecosystem.

The project is grounded in a regenerative tourism model, which means its infrastructure is powered entirely by renewable energy, there is zero reliance on fossil fuels, and plastic waste is minimised.
