Saudi Arabia’s travel and hospitality sectors continue to align more closely as demand for pilgrimage and religious tourism grows under Vision 2030. In this context, Almosafer has announced a strategic collaboration with Accor’s Makkah Cluster, reinforcing distribution capabilities and access to some of the Holy City’s most sought-after hotels.
The agreement covers four flagship properties located steps from Masjid Al Haram: Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, Raffles Makkah Palace, Swissôtel Makkah and Swissôtel Al Maqam Makkah—assets that combine scale, proximity and premium positioning in one of the world’s most important religious destinations.

Enhancing access at scale
At its core, the partnership is designed to streamline access to accommodation in Makkah for both tour operators and pilgrims, particularly during peak Hajj and Umrah periods. By integrating inventory more efficiently across its platform, Almosafer aims to improve booking flows, increase availability and simplify logistics for global source markets.
This is particularly significant given the sustained growth in pilgrimage travel. As Saudi Arabia continues to expand capacity and welcome increasing numbers of visitors, distribution efficiency has become a critical factor in ensuring a seamless experience.
“Accor’s Makkah Cluster… represents some of the most important hospitality assets in the Holy City,” said Muzzammil Ahussain, CEO of Almosafer. “This collaboration reflects our shared focus on strengthening access, distribution efficiency, and reach at scale.”
Leveraging a fully integrated travel ecosystem
A key strength of the collaboration lies in Almosafer’s integrated business model, which spans multiple segments of the travel value chain.
Through Mawasim, its dedicated Hajj and Umrah operator, the company can directly support pilgrimage travel. Meanwhile, Discover Saudi, its destination management company, enables the growing “Umrah Plus” segment—encouraging visitors to extend their stay beyond the religious journey.
The partnership also extends into corporate and institutional travel via Almosafer Business, while its consumer platform enhances visibility across GCC markets.
This multi-channel approach allows Accor’s Makkah properties to benefit from both B2B and B2C distribution, maximising reach and occupancy across different customer segments.
A global distribution network
Beyond its domestic footprint, Almosafer brings a strong international network to the partnership. With offices in key source markets such as Pakistan and Indonesia, alongside a wide network of travel agents globally, the company is well positioned to scale access to Makkah’s hotel inventory.
As one of the leading sellers of accommodation in the Holy City, Almosafer already ranks among the top contributors to Accor’s Makkah portfolio—making this collaboration a natural extension of an existing commercial relationship.
Supporting Vision 2030 ambitions
The partnership is closely aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to position the Kingdom as a global tourism hub while significantly increasing the number of Hajj and Umrah visitors.
For Accor, which operates 11 hotels and more than 12,000 rooms in Makkah alone, the collaboration enhances its ability to distribute inventory efficiently at scale.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Almosafer… to deliver exceptional experiences for our guests in Makkah,” said Salem Al Shahrani, Managing Director of Accor’s Makkah Clock Towers Complex. “Together, we are redefining the standards of comfort and accessibility in one of the world’s most sacred destinations.”
A strategic alignment of travel and hospitality
As pilgrimage demand continues to rise, partnerships between travel platforms and hospitality operators are becoming increasingly essential. The collaboration between Almosafer and Accor illustrates how integrated distribution, global reach and operational alignment can support the Kingdom’s long-term objectives.
