AMAALA Yacht Club has officially begun operations, marking an important step in Saudi Arabia’s ambition to establish its Red Sea coastline as a global destination for luxury sailing, marine tourism and high-end hospitality.
Located within AMAALA Marina Village, the club is now welcoming founding members and visiting yachts. It combines a full-service marina with restaurants, private social spaces, wellness experiences and access to AMAALA’s expanding collection of luxury resorts.
Developed by Red Sea Global, AMAALA is positioning itself as more than a new port of call. Its location could make it a strategically important winter base for yachts that traditionally leave the Mediterranean for the Caribbean or Indian Ocean when the European season ends.
Approximately 2,000 nautical miles from Monaco, AMAALA is considerably closer to the Mediterranean than the Caribbean and offers onward access towards the Indian Ocean.

A marina built for superyachts
AMAALA Marina provides 119 berths and can accommodate superyachts measuring more than 100 metres. Fuel is already available, while further maintenance and repair facilities are scheduled to be introduced over the coming years.
According to Red Sea Global, berthing and mooring fees are comparable with those charged at leading European yachting destinations. Yacht owners securing permanent moorings will also receive a range of privileges through selected AMAALA resort partners.
The yacht club itself covers 7,900 square metres and has been conceived as a social and operational centre for resident and visiting yacht owners, their guests and crews.
Its hospitality offering includes AMAALA Lounge, ANQA, 27°C and The Deck, together with a rooftop swimming pool, private meeting suites and spaces dedicated to events and social gatherings.
A different winter cruising proposition
Weather conditions are likely to play an important role in AMAALA’s appeal to the international market. Red Sea Global reports average seasonal temperatures of 26°C, with average lows of 23°C, providing comfortable conditions for cruising and outdoor activities throughout much of the year.
The destination is also located approximately 45 minutes from Al Wajh International Airport, which reopened in May 2026 following major terminal and infrastructure improvements. This proximity is intended to make crew changes and international guest arrivals more convenient.
Beyond the marina, visitors have access to AMAALA’s growing hospitality portfolio, including Four Seasons, Six Senses, Rosewood, Equinox and Nammos. Two additional resorts are expected to open in the coming months.
The wider destination offers wellness programmes, water sports, cultural events, art installations and social venues, creating a more comprehensive proposition than a conventional marina stopover.
International sailing ambitions
AMAALA Yacht Club is also expected to become a focal point for major sailing events. It will play a central role in the Grand Finale of The Ocean Race 2027, one of the most prominent competitions on the international sailing calendar.
A programme of additional international yachting events is planned throughout the year, helping position both AMAALA and the Saudi Red Sea more firmly on the global maritime tourism map.
Hosting events of this scale should also bring the destination to the attention of yacht owners, charter companies, sailing professionals and specialist tour operators who may previously have had limited exposure to Saudi Arabia’s western coastline.
Inspired by the Red Sea
Designed by HKS Architects, the yacht club draws inspiration from the sculpted rock formations of the surrounding coastline. Its cantilevered terraces combine contemporary architecture with elements referencing maritime heritage and traditional Arabian design.
The building has been conceived as a long-term gathering place for the international sailing community, rather than simply as a marina clubhouse.
Like the wider AMAALA destination, the yacht club is powered entirely by renewable energy, supporting Red Sea Global’s stated commitment to responsible development and regenerative tourism.
The opening adds another important component to AMAALA’s rapidly developing tourism ecosystem. More significantly, it gives the international yachting market a new option: a warm-weather base within reach of the Mediterranean, surrounded by newly opened luxury resorts and offering direct access to one of the world’s least-explored cruising regions.
