Aroya Cruises, the newly launched cruise line from Cruise Saudi, has announced that bookings are now open for its inaugural season at the end of this year. This announcement follows the cruise line’s successful debut at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai.
Launched in June 2023, Aroya Cruises is a premium cruise line operating under Cruise Saudi, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund. Based in Jeddah, the new cruise line aims to provide year-round experiences tailored to Saudi and GCC nationals and residents, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to become a top global tourism destination.
At ATM, Aroya Cruises showcased its unique offerings tailored to Arabian preferences. The cruise line’s first ship features 18 decks, 28 dining options, 20 entertainment venues, a retail area, and wellness and spa facilities. These elements reflect Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage and renowned hospitality, known as Hafawa.
Visitors to the Aroya Cruises booth at ATM were able to experience the cruise’s offerings through interactive display screens and detailed models of the ship and its cabins. This provided a comprehensive preview of what AROYA Cruises will offer.
Aroya Cruises participated in several strategic engagements at ATM, including the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and discussions with industry leaders and media. Turky Kari, Executive Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications for AROYA Cruises, participated in a panel discussion titled “The Potential of Cruise: Creating Swell in the Middle East,” which explored the potential and challenges of the cruise industry in the region.
Joerg Rudoph, President of Aroya Cruises, commented on the brand’s participation in ATM: “We are excited to bring Aroya Cruises to ATM, a crucial event in the travel industry calendar. Launching our first cruise ship to the commercial market is a significant milestone, and we look forward to showcasing the exceptional facilities, quality design, and authentic Arabian experiences on board Aroya Cruises.”
Cruise Saudi, fully owned by the Public Investment Fund, is committed to transforming Saudi Arabia’s coastlines into premier global cruise destinations. The company manages the development of state-of-the-art cruise terminals, ground services training, and shore excursions. With port facilities in Jeddah, Yanbu, and Dammam, Cruise Saudi aims to welcome 1.3 million cruise passengers annually by 2035, supporting Saudi Arabia’s tourism goals under Vision 2030.
