Diriyah holds a unique place in Saudi history as the location where the First Saudi State was established in 1727. Its UNESCO World Heritage Site, At-Turaif, features well-preserved palaces, mosques, and mudbrick structures that are emblematic of Najdi architecture. Bab Samhan, named after one of Diriyah’s iconic gates where ruler Imam Abdullah bin Saud defended the city, draws inspiration from this rich heritage.
Nestled within a maze of alleyways, the hotel’s design stays true to the low-contour, mudbrick architecture of the region. The interiors incorporate restored Najdi elements inspired by the local landscape, including motifs reflecting the sun, wildflowers, palm fronds, and mountains.
