For travellers who believe genuine wellness requires silence, space and freedom from the distractions of a family resort, AMAALA’s latest opening – Jayasom Wellness Resort AMAALA – may prove particularly appealing.
Importantly, the entire resort is not entirely adults-only. Instead, it has been deliberately divided into two distinct environments: a tranquil adult zone centred on intensive wellness and a separate family experience with its own age-specific facilities and activities.
This arrangement allows couples, solo travellers and guests undertaking more serious health programmes to enjoy a suitably calm setting, without excluding families from the wider Jayasom experience.

Wellness without interruption
The adults-only section is conceived as a sanctuary for holistic therapies, physiotherapy, fitness and Pilates. Programmes are tailored to each guest following consultations and can address objectives including women’s health, weight management, lifestyle changes and general physical and mental renewal.
Rather than treating wellness as an optional spa visit, Jayasom places it at the centre of the stay. Movement sessions, treatments, nutrition and daily activities form part of a personalised programme designed around each guest’s individual goals.
The resort combines contemporary, evidence-based health practices with Arab and Eastern healing traditions. Its philosophy also acknowledges the historic exchange of medical knowledge between cultures, including the contribution of the influential physician and philosopher Ibn Sina, known in the West as Avicenna.
“As we launch the first Jayasom globally, we are bringing a new dimension to AMAALA’s wellness offering,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.
“Its dedicated, all-inclusive wellness retreats combine contemporary, evidence-based practices with Arab and Eastern healing traditions.”
A resort designed around renewal
Situated on the largest cove at Triple Bay, between the Red Sea and the Tabuk mountains, Jayasom Wellness Resort AMAALA comprises 153 rooms and suites, together with 24 residences.
The resort was designed by Heah & Co., with interiors by Studio Carter. Its setting within AMAALA’s secluded wellness core has been selected to create an environment conducive to reflection, recovery and longer-term health improvement.
Guests can complement the resort’s indoor programmes with hiking, trail running and cycling, as well as kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling and diving.
The combination of sea, mountains and largely undeveloped coastal landscapes gives Jayasom an important natural advantage over conventional urban medical spas or wellness hotels.
Nutrition as part of the programme
Nutrition is treated as an integral element of the guest experience rather than an exercise in restriction.
Eight restaurants and cafés offer cuisines inspired by regional and international traditions, with an emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients and nutritionally balanced dishes. Interactive culinary activities are also designed to help guests understand the relationship between food and long-term health.
The aim is to provide an experience that is both enjoyable and educational—giving guests practical ideas and habits that can continue after they return home.

Families are welcome—but separately
While the adults-only sanctuary is likely to attract much of the attention, Jayasom has not overlooked the growing market for family wellness travel.
Its dedicated family offering provides age-appropriate facilities and activities focused on movement, connection and healthy habits. The separation of the two experiences allows families to participate in the resort’s wellbeing philosophy without compromising the peace expected by adult guests elsewhere on the property.
Programmes can also be created around couples and family wellbeing, enabling guests to share parts of their wellness journey while retaining access to more individual experiences.
Beachfront wellness residences
Jayasom Residences comprise a limited collection of two- to four-bedroom beachfront villas. Each has a private swimming pool and spacious terraces overlooking the Red Sea.
Owners receive benefits including complimentary wellness retreats, preferred access to treatments and dining, and invitations to Jayasom events around the world.
The residences sit alongside the resort, combining private coastal living with access to its health, fitness, nutrition and hospitality services.
Another milestone for AMAALA
Jayasom is the seventh resort to open at AMAALA, with another two scheduled to join the destination in the coming months.
The wider development will include branded residences, integrated wellness facilities, a marina, destination dining, curated retail and a marine-life experiential institute.
Jayasom Wellness Resort AMAALA is powered entirely by solar energy, in keeping with the broader destination. It will also contribute to Red Sea Global’s stated ambition of achieving a 30% net conservation benefit by 2040.
For adult travellers, however, the most immediate attraction may be considerably simpler: a purpose-designed place to concentrate on their health, free from the bustle normally associated with a family resort, but without losing access to luxury hospitality or the natural beauty of the Saudi Red Sea.
