Marriott International has forged a partnership with NEOM to establish two luxury properties in Trojena, NEOM’s mountain destination in north-western Saudi Arabia. The agreement encompasses the first W Hotel in Saudi Arabia and a JW Marriott property.
The W Hotel in Trojena is set to feature 236 guest rooms, including 47 suites, offering uninterrupted views of the mountains and a freshwater lake. The property will include signature brand spaces like the Living Room, WET Deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness center. Four dining venues and retail spaces are also planned. The hotel will be located within the Lake Village, which aims to offer exclusive residential, hospitality, and commercial experiences by the water. This architectural lake, stretching 2.8 kilometers, will be a unique destination with features like an enchanted forest and waterfront adventures. The Lake Village will also house various retail and dining options, fresh food and shopping markets, and entertainment areas.

The JW Marriott Hotel in Trojena will cater to luxury travelers seeking an ultra-premium escape with exceptional service and well-being experiences. It will be situated in The Bow, expected to be a futuristic water world blending nature and technology for a unique living environment. Immersed in the lake and surrounded by mountains, the substructure will be designed to withstand water pressure, with adaptable spaces allowing multi-season use, including a large atrium for events. Plans for the hotel include 500 luxury rooms and suites, along with extensive entertainment and recreational facilities such as a ballroom, meeting spaces, five dining venues, a fitness club, kids’ club, swimming pools, and a spa.
Philip Gullett, Executive Director of Trojena, highlighted Trojena’s central location, high elevation mountain landscape up to 2,600 meters, and natural surroundings, redefining the concept of ultra-luxury hospitality and mountain tourism.
Chris Newman, Executive Director of NEOM Hotel Development, emphasised that JW Marriott and W Hotels, both purpose-driven brands tailored for the next generation luxury traveler, will significantly enhance the travel experience in Trojena, positioning it as a leading venue for global conferences, exhibitions, and high-profile events.
Trojena, a flagship NEOM development, is envisioned as a year-round adventure sports destination featuring activities like skiing, water sports, hiking, and mountain biking. It will host the 2029 Asian Winter Games and incorporate apartments, chalets, retail, dining, and entertainment areas.
