LOT Polish Airlines has joined hands with the Saudi Air Connectivity Program (ACP) to establish the first-ever direct flight path between Poland and Saudi Arabia. This historic agreement promises to usher in a new era of tourism, trade, and cultural relations between the two nations.
The breakthrough was announced during the prestigious International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAN2023) event in Riyadh. The direct flights from Warsaw to Riyadh, slated to commence in June 2024, signify ACP’s twelfth European air connection, embodying a strategic effort to draw Polish visitors and fortify Eastern European links via Warsaw.

This direct air route is poised to catalyse economic growth, driven by a surge in European demand for Saudi travel experiences. With a staggering 43% increase in Polish visitors to the Kingdom in 2023, the new service from Poland will operate three times weekly, contributing 156 roundtrips and nearly 59,000 seats each year aboard LOT’s state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
Ali Rajab, CEO of ACP, articulates the vision behind the collaboration, “This is more than a route; it’s a bridge between cultures, offering Polish explorers a gateway to the rich tapestry of Saudi Arabian life.” He envisions the new service not just as a logistical achievement but as an invitation for discovery and exchange.
Echoing this sentiment, the CEO of LOT Polish Airlines expressed excitement about Saudi Arabia’s burgeoning tourism sector. The new direct service is expected to captivate adventurous travelers, with Riyadh offering a treasure trove of new, unexpected experiences less than seven hours away from Warsaw on the Dreamliner.
The establishment of the Warsaw-Riyadh route is a strategic component of Saudi Vision 2030, a transformative blueprint for the Kingdom’s future. With the ambition of becoming a premier aviation hub, Saudi Arabia is scaling up its air route capacity and has expanded e-visa eligibility to a total of 63 countries, demonstrating its openness and accessibility.

This initiative is a testament to the power of partnership and innovation in the aviation industry, setting the stage for a future where distance is no barrier to the exchange of ideas, goods, and the rich diversity of human culture.
