Countdown to the opening of Raffles Jeddah

The spectacular Raffles Jeddah is slated to open its doors in mid-2025. SAFE senior staff met with George Akar, Director of Sales and Marketing for the property during ILTM Cannes for a detailed run-down on progress to date. Promising to redefine luxury hospitality in Saudi Arabia, this landmark hotel is poised to become a symbol of elegance and cultural immersion on Jeddah’s iconic Corniche.

Drawing inspiration from the soothing energy of the Red Sea, the project features a delicate colour palette that harmonises with its surroundings, making it an iconic addition to the city’s skyline. “Raffles Jeddah is not just another hotel,” says Akar. “It’s a destination in itself, offering a blend of luxury, culture, and exclusivity that’s unmatched in the city.”

A spectacular addition to Jeddah’s skyline

The Raffles Jeddah project features two interconnected towers, with the hotel housing 182 luxurious rooms and suites and a separate tower comprising 120 Raffles-branded residential apartments. The two towers are seamlessly linked by a podium level, creating an architectural marvel in the heart of Jeddah. “It’s a huge project, and we believe it will elevate the standards and service offerings in the city,” explains Akar.

A celebration of culture and sophistication

Designed by DSA Architects International, Raffles Jeddah is designed to pay homage to Saudi culture. The hotel’s architecture integrates traditional elements, and bespoke artworks by Saudi artists are displayed throughout the property. “What makes us different is how we integrate the local culture into the property,” said Akar. “From the design to the artwork, everything is meticulously planned to reflect the city’s essence. Guests will truly feel the spirit of Jeddah.”

Guests can look forward to staying in some of the largest and most luxurious rooms in the city. The leading room category starts at 67 square metres, with all rooms offering uninterrupted sea views and private balconies. “All our rooms overlook the sea,” Akar said. “This is something unique that we bring to the city.”

Presidential suites with panoramic views

For those seeking ultimate luxury, the presidential suites on the 27th floor provide 360-degree panoramic views of the Red Sea. These expansive suites include a living room, dining area, majlis, master bedroom, and private kitchenette. “These suites are all about grandeur and exclusivity,” notes Akar. “They’re designed to offer not only luxury but also security, which is an added value for our elite clientele.”

A gateway to Saudi Arabia’s experiences

Raffles Jeddah’s prime location makes it a central hub for exploring the city and beyond. The hotel is close to Al-Balad, Jeddah’s historic district and UNESCO World Heritage Site, and offers convenient access to AlUla, Mecca, and the Red Sea’s renowned diving spots.

“Jeddah is strategically located,” Akar explains. “You’re just a short drive or flight away from some of Saudi Arabia’s most stunning locations. Whether it’s diving in the Red Sea, visiting AlUla, or exploring the old town, there’s so much to do.”

The opening of Raffles Jeddah aligns perfectly with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a transformative initiative aimed at positioning the Kingdom as a global tourism hub. “Many people we’ve spoken to want to know more about Jeddah and Saudi Arabia as a whole,” Akar shares. “The government’s investment in tourism and the changes happening here have put Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.”
