Red Sea Global Announces Thuwal Private Retreat

Red Sea Global, known for its projects The Red Sea and Amaala, has announced the upcoming Thuwal Private Retreat. Set to welcome guests next year, this island destination is for buy-outs only.

Situated within a coral archipelago on the Red Sea coast, the 1.7-hectare island houses a main three-bedroom villa, three one-bedroom suites, a beach club, and a wellness center. Guests arrive via a private jetty and meet the guest experience team at the entry.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, mentioned, “Thuwal Private Retreat offers a space for guests to disconnect. The Red Sea coast and our tailored services aim to provide a unique experience.”

Notably, Thuwal operates independently of The Red Sea and Amaala. It’s solely an RSG-owned brand, marking a departure from RSG’s usual collaborations with third-party hotel operators. “This project showcases our growing portfolio and our team’s capability to manage every aspect of development,” Pagano added.

In addition to its other offerings, Thuwal promotes sustainability. Meals will be prepared with local ingredients, and there are plans to collaborate with local artisans and eateries. RSG is also hiring from the local community, focusing on those interested in entering the hospitality industry.

Black Tomato has noted an increased interest in exclusive properties. Thuwal aims to meet this demand by offering activities such as snorkelling in nearby coral reefs and visits to the local village and Jeddah.

In related news, Red Sea Global has taken on refurbishment tasks at Al Wajh Airport (EJH), aiming to update it to current standards. This includes improving the existing terminal and constructing a new international one, which could lead to increased flights and more local job opportunities.
