Red Sea joins Virtuoso

The Red Sea, a flagship destination of multi-project developer Red Sea Global, will now benefit from direct access to leading leisure travel agencies across the globe.

Red Sea Global (RSG) is the developer of two groundbreaking regenerative tourism projects. Its flagship destination, The Red Sea, has now joined Virtouso’s exclusive portfolio of luxury travel partners – a network of over 2,300 top-quality suppliers in 100 countries, offering world-class services and experiences to discerning travelers.

The Red Sea, which will open its doors to guests in 2023, thus becomes part of Virtuoso’s elite group of the finest hotels, resorts, cruise lines, tour operators and other travel entities in the world. These prestigious partners are known for providing exceptional offerings and rare opportunities to their clients.

“We are creating a unique relationship between luxury tourism and the natural environment at The Red Sea, set among desert canyons, dormant volcanoes and unexplored islands. By putting people and planet first, we are enhancing the surrounding environment and redefining responsible development. Working with Virtuoso, we’ll demonstrate the benefits of regenerative tourism, while offering our unparalleled guest experiences to travelers from all over the world,” said John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global.

The Red Sea is located on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, covering 28,000 square kilometers of pristine lands and waters. It will feature prestigious luxury brands, such as Ritz Carlton Reserve and Miraval resorts – the first in the Middle East. Visitors to The Red Sea can enjoy a variety of activities across retail, sport, entertainment, health and wellness – from desert safaris and spa days to sailing and diving. They can also stay at some of the world’s most iconic hotels.

The new partnership also reflects The Red Sea’s commitment to sustainable tourism principles and practices, which is a core value for Virtuoso. For more than a decade, Virtuoso has been promoting sustainability through awards, editorial coverage, a Sustainability Council, training and professional development for its affiliated travel advisors, and its latest Virtuoso Sustainability White Paper available here.

“Red Sea Global’s innovative approach to developing a luxury offering while improving natural capital aligns with our goal to support the transition to green tourism,” said Virtuoso Senior Vice President Sales & Partnerships Cory Hagopian. “With travelers increasingly looking for destinations that combine opulence with eco-friendly activities, The Red Sea will firmly position Saudi Arabia on the global tourism map.”

By 2030, The Red Sea will have 50 resorts, with up to 8,000 hotel rooms and more than 1,000 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites. The destination will also have an international airport, luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment and leisure facilities.

By partnering with Virtuoso, Red Sea Global will gain direct access to the world’s leading leisure travel agencies in North and Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
