The festival, which marks the culmination of the competition, includes an award ceremony and an exhibition of the winners’ works. This event is not only a celebration of young talent but also an important cultural milestone for the Middle East. The third season, themed “Heritage. New Vision. Preservation of Cultural Values in the Era of New Technologies,” encourages young artists to explore how technological advancements can coexist with the preservation of cultural heritage.

Daria Kalinina, founder art.coordinate/ Teen Art Art awards project, says her organisation is currently seeking art partners in Saudi Arabia as well as the main venue for opening ceremony: “Our project supports talented youth, and this is the future of Saudi Arabia, and the theme of the project is related to the preservation of cultural heritage in the era of new technologies. In the third season, we expect that about 80 countries will take part in the project, and Saudi Arabia, become a place of attraction for talented youth from all over the world.”

Previous seasons: building a legacy

The Teen Art Awards began in St. Petersburg, Russia, where the first season saw 27 young artists present their works in a gallery space. The theme focused on the relationship between classical and contemporary art, and the exhibition attracted significant interest, providing an educational and engaging experience for visitors.

The second season was held in Dubai, UAE, in collaboration with the SEE Institute Hub of Sustainable Education and Research. The theme, “Sustainable World through the Prism of Art,” emphasized the importance of sustainable development. The event included master classes, educational lectures, and a series of works addressing sustainability, attracting participants from 38 countries.

The third season in Saudi Arabia aims to attract participants from 80 countries, reflecting the Kingdom’s growing influence in the global cultural arena. By hosting the Teen Art Awards, Saudi Arabia is reinforcing its commitment to Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and promote cultural and creative industries.

The awards will include a hybrid format with both digital and physical presentations of the winners’ works. An educational parallel program will offer master classes, lectures, and discussions led by art professionals. This initiative is designed to inspire and educate the next generation of artists, providing them with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the creative industry.

Enhancing cultural exchange and global connectivity

The Teen Art Awards in Saudi Arabia will also feature art tours, allowing participants to visit significant art locations, biennales, and galleries. These tours will immerse teenagers in the professional art world, offering them the opportunity to meet and learn from artists, gallerists, and curators.
