Saudia the world’s “most improved airline”

Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has been named “The World’s Most Improved Airline” and ranked first for Best Economy Class Airline Catering at the 2024 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

The awards, hosted by Skytrax, an international air transport rating organisation, are based on a comprehensive global customer satisfaction survey conducted over several months, covering more than 375 airlines worldwide.

Saudia’s recognition as “The World’s Most Improved Airline” for the third time highlights its significant progress in recent years. The airline has seen a remarkable climb in rankings, moving from 82nd place in 2017 to 23rd in 2023, and reaching the 20th position in 2024.

The “SHINE” transformation programme has been pivotal in Saudia’s success, focusing on enhancing guest experience, optimising operational efficiency, and improving service and product offerings. This programme has ushered in a new era of digital transformation and cutting-edge technologies. As a result, Saudia ranked among the top 10 airlines globally in On-Time Performance (OTP) throughout 2023, maintaining this position for six consecutive months. In May 2024, Saudia achieved a top five ranking for arrival On-Time Performance (OTP-A) and first globally for departure On-Time Performance (OTP-D).
