Taiba Investments has announced a strategic partnership with Hilton to bring the prestigious Waldorf Astoria brand to Madinah. This collaboration, signed during the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) World in Dubai, marks a new chapter in Madinah’s hospitality landscape, aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s ambitious tourism goals.
Elevating Madinah’s hospitality offering
Set to open in 2028, the Waldorf Astoria Al Madinah will be the first of its kind in the holy city, offering a unique combination of luxury, cultural sensitivity, and proximity to one of Islam’s most revered sites—the Prophet’s Mosque. The hotel’s exclusive location on the northern side of the mosque will provide guests with direct views of the holy site, making it an exceptional destination for religious travellers seeking a premium experience.
Sultan Al Otaibi, CEO of Taiba Investments, highlighted the importance of the project, stating, “This agreement marks a pivotal moment in our strategic growth, reflecting our unwavering commitment to enhancing Saudi Arabia’s hospitality offering across diverse segments. Our collaboration with Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts will elevate tourism and hospitality by delivering an extraordinary guest experience in line with the ‘Pilgrim Experience Program’.”
Al Otaibi’s remarks underscore Taiba’s commitment to integrating world-class luxury with the spiritual and cultural heritage of Saudi Arabia, ensuring that the hospitality experience remains deeply rooted in the Kingdom’s values.
A partnership with global impact
This partnership between Taiba Investments and Hilton reinforces the continued expansion of Hilton’s luxury brands across Saudi Arabia. Carlos Khneisser, Vice President of Development for Hilton in the Middle East and Africa, shared his enthusiasm: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Taiba Investments through this remarkable project. Saudi Arabia remains one of our fastest-growing markets where we plan to grow our footprint to exceed 100 hotels in the coming years. Waldorf Astoria Al Madinah will bring the brand’s timeless hospitality and elegant service near one of the world’s most sacred sites.”
The Waldorf Astoria brand is known worldwide for its impeccable service and luxurious amenities, and its arrival in Madinah is a major milestone. The hotel will feature more than 300 rooms and suites, offering guests a blend of opulence and serenity. The dining experiences will be equally luxurious, with three world-class restaurants, including the iconic Peacock Alley café. Additionally, the property will boast multi-functional event spaces, a private club lounge, prayer rooms, and a fully equipped fitness centre, all designed to meet the needs of the modern luxury traveller.
A boost to the local economy and tourism infrastructure
Taiba Investments’ broader strategy aims to contribute to the Kingdom’s local economy and tourism infrastructure by delivering high-end hospitality projects that align with Vision 2030. A key aspect of this initiative includes the transformation of the Taiba Front Hotel, which will be rebranded as the Waldorf Astoria Al Madinah. This renovation will introduce Waldorf Astoria’s hallmark luxury to Madinah, creating a fusion of global sophistication and local tradition.
The development reflects Taiba’s mission to acquire and develop high-value assets that not only enhance the guest experience but also support economic growth in the region. The rebranding and renovation of Taiba’s existing properties will further solidify the company’s position as a leader in the Kingdom’s hospitality sector.
