The luxury travel industry’s “must attend” event kicks off in Vegas

Virtuoso Travel Week 2024 has officially kicked off in Las Vegas, marking one of the most significant events in the luxury travel industry. Often referred to as the “Fashion Week of Travel,” this annual gathering draws thousands of luxury travel professionals from over 90 countries, offering a unique platform for networking, idea exchange, and setting the trends that will shape the future of high-end travel.

This year’s event, running from August 10-16, promises several exciting features and enhancements. Key among these is the increased personalisation of one-on-one appointments through a sophisticated matching system, which has successfully accommodated 95% of requests from both advisors and partners. This change underscores Virtuoso’s commitment to fostering meaningful and productive connections within the industry.

In addition, the event introduces new elements like “Braindate,” a platform for small-group discussions on relevant topics, and the expanded “Community Globetrotting” sessions, which now span two days. These sessions focus on various Virtuoso Communities, including Cruise, Adventure, Culinary, and Ultra-luxe Travel, with a new Sustainability pavilion reflecting the growing importance of sustainable travel practices.

Another highlight is the third annual Travel Tech Summit, focusing on the integration of smart technology with human connection, showcasing the latest trends and innovations in travel tech. This summit is particularly relevant as the industry increasingly looks toward AI and other technologies to enhance, rather than replace, the personal touch that is central to luxury travel.

Simon Sinek is back at VTW!

With keynote speakers like Simon Sinek and industry leaders like Virtuoso’s Chairman and CEO Matthew D. Upchurch, Virtuoso Travel Week is not just an opportunity to network but also to gain invaluable insights into leadership, innovation, and the future of the travel industry.

Speaking in a LinkedIn post of the return of Sinek this year, Virtuoso CEO Matthew Upchurch said, “In 2010 Simon first spoke to us as we were working on what it took to truly transition from Agent to Advisor.  He told us to not listen to the pundits and follow our WHY…the rest is history.  I lovingly call him Virtuoso’s Godfather and we’ve become great friends.  Can’t wait to have him join our global annual reunion with Virtuosos from 97 countries.”

This week in Las Vegas is set to shape the trajectory of luxury travel for the coming year, making it an unmissable event for anyone involved in the high-end travel sector.

Wishing all our Virtuoso friends a great week, and a good time in Vegas.
